May 17, 2026 · Bethesda Chevy Chase High School · 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Spring is the perfect time to get outside, get moving, and connect with our vibrant local community in Montgomery County, Maryland. If you’re looking for a fitness festival in Bethesda that combines community health, family-friendly activities, and meaningful philanthropy, look no further than Metro Move Fest 2026 — returning Sunday, May 17, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School stadium track.

What is Metro Move Fest?

Hosted by the Chevy Chase–based Nesfield Performance Foundation in partnership with the Metro Bethesda Rotary, Metro Move Fest is a one-of-a-kind wellness festival built on three core pillars: Move, Connect, and Give Back. What started as the Nesfield Performance 5K in 2021 has grown into one of Montgomery County’s most anticipated annual wellness events — now in its third official year as Metro Move Fest.

The Metro Bethesda Rotary is a proud founding partner of Metro Move Fest, playing a key role in bringing this community celebration to life each year. Their commitment to local service helps make the event possible — and more inclusive.

This event brings together public, private, and nonprofit sectors to foster a healthier, more connected Montgomery County — where you can have fun working out, playing, learning from local vendors, and giving back all at the same time.

Move: Fitness activities for every age and ability

Whether you’re a competitive athlete or just looking for a fun Sunday afternoon in Bethesda, Metro Move Fest has something for everyone.

For those seeking a challenge, the festival features the Last Man Standing race — an endurance event where the slowest finishers are eliminated lap by lap until it becomes an all-out sprint. The Metro Gauntlet 200 is a 200-meter obstacle course complete with burpees, hurdles, crawls, and carries. And for competitive fun, the Bubble Sumo Showdown has participants donning oversized inflatable suits for an unforgettable contest.

Families and recreational attendees can enjoy classic field day events — 100m sprints, sack races, three-legged races, and a Tug-of-War against a Strongman. Group fitness classes including Family Yoga, Tai Chi, Capoeira, and Dance Fitness round out the movement programming.

NFL legends football clinic: Washington icons on the field

So What Else is thrilled to announce a collaboration with the NFLPA DC Chapter, supported by Metro Move Fest, to host an extraordinary youth football clinic at this year’s event — featuring two Washington football legends.

Former Washington legends will join the clinic, giving young participants the chance to receive autographs, take photos, and enjoy on-field instruction from some of the best to ever play the game. For aspiring football players in the DMV area, this is a once-in-a-season opportunity not to be missed.

Give Back: Community wellness and nonprofit impact

Metro Move Fest is more than a fitness festival — it’s a platform for giving back to the greater Bethesda and Montgomery County community.

This year’s featured nonprofit partner is So What Else (SWE), a local organization dedicated to supporting underserved families. As a benefiting nonprofit, SWE community members and their families receive complimentary admission — a meaningful way to ensure the event is truly open and welcoming to everyone. The event also provides donated tickets to disadvantaged communities throughout the area, so that access to health, wellness, and fun is never limited by financial barriers.

One of the most beloved event features is the So What Else Donation Derby — a Kentucky Derby–inspired race where teams of two (a “Horse” and a “Jockey”) race to pack donation bags with dry goods for local families in need. It’s community service made joyful.

All event proceeds support the Nesfield Performance Foundation’s mission to advance health and wellness through community grants and education initiatives. Local businesses can also give back through event sponsorships, which fund donated tickets to youth from underserved communities.

Nonprofit partnerships powering the event

Metro Move Fest is made possible by a strong network of community organizations working together. The Metro Bethesda Rotary, So What Else (SWE), and the NFLPA DC Chapter are among the key nonprofit partners helping bring this year’s festival to life — demonstrating how collaboration between community groups creates lasting wellness impact in Montgomery County.
